The outreach team offers a confidential, safe and supportive space that women can access should they not be able to make it to the Refuge. The outreach team can also offer phone support to those who feel more comfortable engaging this way. We understand how difficult it is to take that first step to access support services when you are impacted by domestic violence. It is important that women can easily access vital services. The support offered will be tailored to the individuals needs and it can be short, medium or long term. The outreach team will work with the individual to draft a plan that best suits their needs and it can be adjusted as the woman’s needs change.
We also offer an advocacy and referral service, along with assisting women to understand their legal entitlements and navigate the Court process should they decide to apply for legal remedies through the Court. We can talk you through the various domestic violence orders available, the application process and provide Court Accompaniment.
It is important to remember you are not alone and you do have options.
The outreach service is available to all women who are or who have been affected by domestic violence. There are a number of ways the outreach service can be accessed. Referrals can be made by phoning or contacting the Refuge directly. Staff will take your details and then notify the outreach team who will contact you to offer support and information or to arrange an outreach appointment.
Outreach will be also provided to women who have been a resident in the Refuge. The Outreach service is offered throughout County Wexford. Our staff can arrange to meet you in a safe location to offer support and information around the many aspects of domestic violence.
